Expansionconnectors are flexible busbars that are made from copper or aluminumfoils. The foils are presswelded using the inductionprocess to create a compact, solid and homogeneric connection. In the case of aluminumtapes, the connections are welded using the protectivegasweldingprocess. Expansionstraps are used in conductorrailsystems to compensate for expansion between individual conductorrails and switchingsystems, generators and transformators. They thus decouple the busbar system from shocks, vibrations and thermal expansion.
